Rehearsal on 3/19

I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing break. But now down to business. First, there is a new seating plan for both rehearsals and the concert. Be sure to get a copy on your way in to rehearsal and find your new seat (if you have been moved). There will also be a part reassignment for flutes on the Woodward piece You Were There. Finally, we have five regularly scheduled rehearsals left before our concert on 4/22. Tonight's rehearsal will feature:

Country Gardens, Grainger
Scenes from the Louvre, Dello Joio
Fandango, Werle
Suite for Military Band No. 2, Holst
You Were There, Woodward

Following a short break we will sightread the following selections:

Ride, Hazo
Corcoran Cadets, Sousa

Monday, February 27, 2012

You Were There (mm 83-end) by Woodward

So far it seems as if we will be programing these works for our concert on 4/22. It is probable that Mr. Hilkert will conducting one more selection in addition to Scenes from the Louvre.

Welcome Back

Spring is typically thought of as a time of renewal and that is certainly case for what we have planed for the Symphonic Band this semester. Please note that ensemble seating placements will be held Monday and Tuesday, January 23rd & 24th. If you have not already done so, you can sign-up for a time here:

Our first rehearsal will be Monday, January 30th in deLaski Hall (from 7:20-10:00 pm). In addition to syllabus discussion, folder distribution and schedule announcements, we will be reading music - some familiar and some new. Look forward to seeing you then. In the meantime, do not hesitate to e-mail Dr. Wuttke or Mr. Hilkert with your questions and concerns.
