Final Rehearsal Fall 2011

Our final rehearsal of the semester will feature a music reading session (some old, some new) and will conclude with course evaluations. Some of the titles selected for this rehearsal include:

Scenes from The Louvre (Norman Dello Joio), Waltz No. 2 from Jazz Suite No. 2 (Dimitri Shostakovich arr. de Meij), Espirit de Corps (Robert Jager), Marche Des Parachutistes Belges (Pierre Leemans arr. Wiley), Hurricane! (Paul Yoder), Lux Arumque (Eric Whitacre) and Symphonic Dance No. 3 (Clifton Wiliams).

We hope you all are having a stress-free end of the semester and look foward to seeing you on Monday.

U.S. Army Band Concert & Clinic

The woodwind quintet from the U.S. Army Band Pershing's Own will present their MidWest performance during our regularly allotted rehearsal time. Following the concert, the members of the quintet will present a workshop.

Fall Concert 2011

Congratulations to members of the GMU Symphonic Band, your Fall concert was an outstanding success. I can not think of a better way to inaugurate this informational blog by presenting you with a slideshow of your performance.
